M & D’s wedding serves up major autumn inspiration for brides who are searching for intimate wedding ideas this fall. M & D wanted to create a warm and inviting atmosphere for their November wedding, with European charm and elegance. Satin linens in sage with gold accents created a luxurious feel, while silk runners and organic florals created movement throughout the reception design. The fireplace was the perfect spot for their sweetheart table, adorned with a simple, but romantic floral installation. The focal point was flanked with pillar candles in gold antique candle holders that added the perfect metallic accent.
Personal touches such as the calligraphy place setting scrolls and M & D’s bespoke wax seal elevated the tablescape details. Delicate macarons in a clear box tied with a simple ribbon were placed on each setting for the guests to enjoy. Elegant tapered candles in blush and ivory were encased in glass cylinders, and flickered romantically down the long guest tables.
The Dining Experience
Guests were treated to an exquisite five-course plated meal, featuring local and organic ingredients. A statement wedding cake from Soirette was set up next to the sweetheart table. Though simple in appearance, the white buttercream cake was embellished with fresh florals and each tier featured a different decadent flavour — five in total! Pistachio orange, rose water, lychee, tiramisu, and lavender earl grey — I can see why it was hard for M & D to choose!
